The Nemo Satellite Recliner is a great chair for sitting and eating around the fire-pit, and it really shines come dessert, when you can adjust it into a reclining mode via a pulley system built into the armrests, lie back, and do some stargazing. $200; available at JD High Country Outfitters, 160 W. Broadway Ave., Jackson
As perfect for the bike park as the picnic table, Stio’s Eddy button-down shirt is updated this summer with a softer, drapier fabric. Unchanged are its stretch, water-resistant finish, and Western-inspired good looks. $129; available at Stio Mountain Studio, 10 E. Broadway Ave., Jackson
Yeti’s One Gallon Jug keeps things cold (even when it’s hot outside) for 24 hours and has a smooth-pouring spout, an opening wide enough to fit ice, a magnetic cap, and a slide-proof base. $130; available at JD High Country Outfitters, 160 W. Broadway Ave., Jackson
It’s your choice—use Gregory’s 50-liter Alpaca Utility Tote to carry a blanket, chair, several bags of chips, and a couple of bottles of wine or enough firewood to feed a campfire for hours. The matching Kitchen Case is the piece of picnic gear you never knew you needed: it’s got pockets to organize and store plates, cutlery, cutting boards, utensils, and even spices. Tote, $120; Kitchen Case, $80; both available at REI, 974 W. Broadway Ave., Jackson
Yeti’s Roadie 24 2.0 Hard Cooler holds beer, wine, and grillables for a picnic for four; is pretty much indestructible; and has tie-down slots for attaching to a boat or truck bed. $250; available at Ace Hardware, 475 W. Broadway Ave., Jackson
Two great Jackson businesses come together in the Powder Puff x Persephone Stadium Blanket collab. Water-resistant on the outside, backed with soft Sherpa lining, stuffed with Pimaloft Gold insulation, and featuring Persephone’s signature blue, it’s the ultimate outdoor blanket. $175; available at Persephone, 145 E. Broadway Ave., Jackson

Yes, Black Diamond’s Solution 1.0 Hoody is built to send, but, with Primaloft Gold synthetic insulation, it’s also the perfect layer to put on to keep from getting chilled while stopped to enjoy a backcountry bite. $279; available at Black Diamond, 160 W. Pearl Ave., Jackson
Add an international flair to backcountry dining with dehydrated meals from small-batch producers Itacate (Latin-inspired), Stowaway Gourmet (Indian to Thai, Korean, and more), or Good to Go (the Bibimbap is delish). Prices vary; available at itacatefoods.com, stowawaygourmet.com, and goodto-go.com
Because everything, including wine, tastes better in the backcountry, High Camp Flasks’ Parkside Flask 750 is worth carrying the 25 ounces it weighs. Capable of holding an entire 750ml bottle—and keeping it chilled for 24 hours—it is lined with sommelier-grade steel to preserve flavor and comes with two magnetic tumblers. $120; available at highcampflasks.com
You only need one plastic spork to snap in the backcountry to swear forever allegiance to a titanium utensil. The Swedish brand Light My Fire makes a titanium spork with a polished surface that ensures it doesn’t taste metallic. Get every last bite out of your dehydrated meal pouch with Toaks’s long-handle titanium spoon. Spork, $25; spoon, $13; both available at REI, 974 W. Broadway Ave., Jackson
Backcountry coffee need not be barbaric or basic. Couleé Coffee’s travel-ready, single-serve EcoPour filters are pre-filled with 14 grams of premium coffee, 100 percent compostable, and make café-quality pour-over coffee. The filters work equally well at home in the company’s automatic SWIRL system as they do over a coffee mug in the backcountry. Pick from Couleé’s coffees or buy empty filters to fill with your own. 20 filled filters are $28; available at couleecoffee.com
For dehydrated meals and coffee/tea, Jet Boil’s Micromo boils .8 liters of water in a little more than two minutes. The fuel canister and stove itself fit perfectly inside. $170; available at Teton Mountaineering, 170 N. Cache St., Jackson JH
